Dawn's Story
Life
I left NYS in 1965 just after getting married that November. During my 13 year marriage I lived in 4 foreign countries and three different states.
I raised two children who are now 43 and 40. Wow, are they old or what?! I have 4 grandchildren. Two teen boys, a 6 yr old girl and a 3 yr old boy. They bring me great joy.
After many years of being a dog person, I now have two cats. Until the first week of Jan I had three. It was then that I had to say good bye to my 16 yr old calico.
I semi retired in 1994 and am sitll not 100% retired.
School
After graduation I worked at a drugstore for a couple of months. Then I went to work for the WG school Physician, Dr HO. I worked there until I married in 1965. While married
(13yrs) I did not work in the career sense. I did manage an American Embassy Club in Poland for about a year but that was just to get bucks to buy goodies on the economy. After my divorce I went to college and became a Radiation Therapist.

t into antiques and collectibles. I puttered in that for about 6 years. It was wonderfully fun but in retrospect, more than an 8-5, Mon-Fri job.
I love school so have gone back to college many times over the years. Never aimed at a Degree beyond an Assoc. Science but probably have enough credit hours for two BA's. I learned recently that here where I live one can attend college classes for free when they reach 65. I also learned that due to the economic crunch they no longer include any of the arts in the freebies. Rats, I wanted to take lots of artsy stuff and photography courses.
For the past 7 years I have done some part time child care for friends. One of the children is Down Syndrome. Now I know why I taught for 6 months at a pilot school for Special Children at age 20. I have learned with age that all we experience prepares us for something yet to come.
My free time now is spent in my small flower garden and my veggie garden.
Life is good. Memories are the wallpaper of days gone by.
